Reviews and Ratings
The hotel provided an upgraded room with an excellent view, though it was a bit cramped but manageable for a short stay. The staff were very attentive and friendly, offering excellent service. The location was superb, within easy walking distance to all attractions. The dining experience had a lot of choice and was well worth the money.
The hotel had a tired feel in the rooms, but the staff went above and beyond to assist me during a hospital stay. The location was excellent, close to major attractions. The dining was surprisingly good with plenty of choices, and the facilities were great.
The hotel is ideally located for a York getaway, close to everything you need, including restaurants and bars. The rooms, although a bit dated in design, offer a wonderful experience overall, despite some noise issues in specific locations. The service was mostly helpful and pleasant, with a few hiccups in professionalism noted in the room service department. The location is top-notch, just across Clifford's Tower and a short walk from the town center, making it perfect for exploring. The dining experience had its ups and downs, with some exceptional offerings but also some letdowns in quality and local sourcing. Overall, the hotel provides a good value option for visitors looking to enjoy York's attractions.
The room was very cramped for three people with two double beds and a very small bathroom. It felt claustrophobic and depressing with dirty stained carpet and walls. Unfortunately, our anniversary treat turned into a disappointing experience that even left me with a bruised leg. It's definitely not a place to return to or recommend, especially if you're looking for a peaceful sleep past 7 AM due to noisy cleaning staff and a radiator.
My stay at the hotel was lovely, with a great view over the castle ruins from the room. The pillows were a bit too soft for my liking, but the extra ones provided made it cozy. The older lady who cooked eggs on Thursday and Friday mornings was exceptional, and the older waitress at breakfast was delightful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean, although it was a bit far from the lift.
My stay at the hotel was a pleasant experience overall. The rooms were perfectly clean and comfortable, although a bit small with a tiny bathroom. The service was excellent, with the staff being super helpful and attentive. The location was convenient, just on the edge of the city center, but it was a bit noisy. The dining options were tasty but could have offered more variety. I enjoyed the facilities provided by the hotel.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were very nice, especially the comfortable bed and lovely pillows. However, the decor felt dated and minimal, leaving me a bit confused about the value for what I paid. On the bright side, the cleanliness and relaxed atmosphere were great for our group of four, even though the hotel seemed a bit behind compared to others.
The hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms could have been cleaner and better looked after; the bathroom was basic and small despite paying extra for a disappointing view of the car park. On the bright side, the location was perfect for dining and drinks as a couple, near city center attractions like York Minster and The Shambles.
The hotel was like a £40 a night travel lodge compared to other hotels, but it had a great view over the castle ruins. The pillows were a bit too soft, and some aspects need better maintenance. The service was generally friendly and helpful, but there were issues with the booking process. The location was fabulous, just off the town center, with a cozy atmosphere. The dining experience offered a lot of choices, and the breakfast was delightful. The facilities were good overall.
Staying at Premier Inn was a mixed experience. The rooms, though underwhelming for a Hilton property, suited our group of 4 ladies. However, the service was exceptional despite a minor language barrier. The location was fantastic for accessing local attractions, but there were some issues with blocked routes. Dining was enjoyable, offering good choices for both dinner and breakfast.
I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The rooms were very clean and bright, and we were even pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade, which was amazing. However, the lack of air conditioning made the rooms very hot, and the noisy fans were quite bothersome at night. The beds were okay, but the pillows were like sleeping on marshmallows, lacking any structure which was rather unpleasant. The soundproofing wasn't great either, as we could hear everything until around 3.30 in the morning.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of experiences. The rooms were smaller than expected and noisy, affecting our sleep. On the bright side, our early check-in was a relief after a long journey. However, the lack of hot water and noisy conditions were disappointing.
The hotel has lovely service with friendly staff, but the rooms were a bit cramped and the view was disappointing. The location is ideal for sightseeing, and the dining was satisfactory. The facilities were basic but acceptable.
The hotel is conveniently located just a 2-minute walk from the city center, making it easy to explore the attractions. The rooms were clean and spacious with a hint of stale cigarette smoke. The service was exceptional, particularly the front desk staff who were friendly and eager to help despite some issues with card transactions. The dining options were good but could use more variety, and the facilities were adequate. A reasonably priced hotel with valet parking available.
The hotel offers a great view over the castle ruins and has friendly older staff members, though there were issues with mold and smell in the rooms. The service was excellent, with accommodating staff. The location is fabulous, convenient to attractions. The dining experience was good, with a variety of fresh options. The facilities were adequate.
